UNAIDS presented the 2006 Report on the global AIDS epidemic

On May 30, 2006 the new 2006 Report on the global AIDS epidemic (a UNAIDS 10th anniversary special edition) was released.

The 2006 Report on the global AIDS epidemic is a report from the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS). It includes contributions from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the World Food Programme (WFP), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Bank, the Global Fund, and the UNGASS Civil Society Steering Committee.

The report, which features the most comprehensive data on the AIDS response to date, was released in New York ahead of the UN General Assembly High Level Meeting on AIDS, which opens tomorrow.
