ONE-WEEK WORKSHOP ON GENDER RESPONSIVE BUDGETING FOR CIVIL SERVANTS FROM COMMONWEALTH OF INDEPENDENT STATES IS LAUNCHED IN RUSSIA
A one-week workshop on gender responsive budgeting with the focus on gender budgeting in employment has been launched in the premises of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RPANEPA) for civil servants from 7 countries covered by the joint UN Women/RPANEPA project. The workshop brings together representatives from Armenia, 3 persons; Kazakhstan, 3; Kyrgyzstan, 3; Moldova, 2; Russian Federation, 2; Tajikistan, 2; Ukraine, 1 person and representatives of UN Women Subregional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
A healthy lifestyle is the fashion in Russian cities
A number of cities in the Russian Federation have joined the national association of healthy towns, districts and communities, established as part of the international Healthy Cities project of the WHO Regional Office for Europe. The aim is to promote healthy lifestyles, create healthy living conditions, and prevent chronic diseases.
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon Visits RIA Novosti
United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon arrived on Sunday at RIA Novosti news agency as part of his visit to Russia.
At the entrance to the RIA Novosti international press center, Ban Ki-moon was welcomed by RIA Novosti Editor-in-Chief Svetlana Mironyuk. During his visit to the agency, Ban Ki-moon will talk to the RIA Novosti staff and visit the editorial office of The Moscow News newspaper.
Russia and UNEP Sign Agreement to Strengthen Partnership
The partnership between the Russian Federation and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) was strengthened today with the signing of a bilateral agreement, covering priority areas such as the conservation of biological diversity, addressing the environmental aspects of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, and the environmental challenges facing the Arctic.
The agreement was signed by UNEP Executive Director Achim Steiner and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, Sergey Donskoy.
