The “Russia and The United Nations” exhibition presented photos and publications on programmes and projects of the UN Office in the Russian Federation. The UN Office unifies over 20 UN funds, agencies, and other structures, which are providing support to the Russian government and to the people of Russian Federation in solving problems of economic and social development of the country.

GENEVA (ILO News) – More women then ever before are in work, but a persistent gap in status, job security, wages and education between women and men is contributing to the “feminization of working poverty”, according to a new report by the International Labour Office (ILO) issued for International Women’s Day.

Yet the 10-year review of the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action revealed a serious gap between policy and practice in many countries. A lack of political will is reflected in the most telling way of all: lack of resources and insufficient budgetary allocations. That is why the theme of this International Women’s Day is “Investing in Women and Girls”.
