Building back better: People with disabilities have vital role - International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3 December 2020)

GENEVA (1 December 2020) – As the world looks beyond COVID-19, UN human rights experts have urged States to ensure that people with disabilities are fully included in the "building back better" process. To mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (3 December 2020), they issue the following remarks:

GENEVA (8 July 2020) – Women journalists face special dangers while doing their jobs, and governments must do more to protect them against gender-based violence, Dubravka Šimonović, the Special Rapporteur on violence against women, said today in a report to the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Nearly 80 million women, children, and men around the world have been forced from their homes as refugees or internally displaced people. Even more shocking: ten million of these people fled in the past year alone.
