Under the supervision of the UN Common Services Coordinator, the incumbent will perform the following duties and responsibilities:
1. Maintain, regularly inspect and evaluate physical condition of the UN House premises and the compound as well as utility systems, i.e. power, water supply, heating system and fire-cock and report to the direct supervisor on systems defaults;
2. Keep control of the garbage removing, drinking water supply and prophylaxis of utilities;
3. Carry out minor repairs required for the building maintenance, i.e. repairs of doors, repairs and replacement of locks, replacement of electric lamps; wall clocks batteries, water tubs, window glasses, etc.
4. Report to the direct supervisor on defaults of air-conditioners, printers and copiers. Maintain contacts with providers of utility, maintenance and cleaning services
5. Maintain and clean soft furniture (sofas, armchairs) and bear responsibility for moving office non-expandable property in the building when/if required;
6. Monitor and coordinate activities of workers engaged in small construction, repairing, painting when required
7. Purchase household items (lamps, batteries, tools) and any required spare parts
8. Assist the UN Common Services Coordinator in maintenance of the archive, including cleaning, removing waste papers, etc.
9. Regular check of all WCs in the premises for possible damage and default and take necessary measures for repairs.
10. Performs other duties as may be required.
Qualification requirements• Secondary education;
• 3-5 years of practical experience;
• Ability to use hand tools as well as manually-operated and power-driven machines and equipment.
Languages: Fluency in Russian, knowledge of basic spoken English is an asset
